Details

In Hasui's woodblock print titled "Yakumo Bridge at the Nagata Shrine, Kobe," a serene winter tableau unfolds under the veil of falling snow. Dominating the center of the composition, the vibrant red fence of the temple slices through the snowy landscape, offering a bold contrast against the ethereal white backdrop. Amidst this wintry scene, a woman adorned in traditional attire, adorned in a resplendent kimono and sheltered beneath an umbrella, traverses the snowy path with graceful determination. Her presence adds a touch of human warmth to the tranquil landscape as she bravely journeys through the falling snow. Above, a canopy of trees laden with snow drapes over the scene, casting a serene ambiance over the surroundings. Beyond the temple's confines, nestled residences peek out, adding to the charm of the winter vista.
