A steady rain has settled in for the evening. A small boat is left at its side while rocks populate the vacant street. The electrical lines overhead and the warmly lit windows that line the street reveal an interior life. The window’s warm glow casts enough light to make out a single figure with an umbrella making its way through this quiet Hasui landscape.
Connoisseur's Note
This impression is a rare color variant. This version of the design has a stronger coloration than the commercial version found in the catalog raisonne. The print bears the appropriate round 6mm Watanabe seal making this impression a first state.
