Details
This exhibition catalogue from recent retrospective on Ida Shoichi held at the National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto illustrates Ida’s most well known work as well as rare experimental designs. Ida Shoichi has long been considered one of Japan's most innovative printmakers and was often regarded as "the Onchi of Contemporary printmaking". His prints pushed pictorial boundaries as well as the means in which they were produced, and his mastery of composition, editing, and asymmetrical balance helped him produce some of the most compelling and iconic designs of the late 20th century in Japan.
