This reference is the catalogue for the Yamaguchi Gen exhibition conducted more than 20 years ago. The exhibition drew upon Japan's top museums as well as celebrated private collections. This comprehensive reference illustrates nearly 200 woodblock prints and drawings by this Sosaku Hanga artist. The selection includes early work as well as his rarely seen monoprints done with found objects executed during his association with Onchi Koshiro. Also included are rare and early self-printed works by Sekino, Taninaka, and Onchi. Of the three references produced on the artist, this catalogue is the most comprehensive and best suited to providing an overview of Yamaguchi’s illustrious career.
