Details
Majestic Fuji rises from a nearby jagged terrain as night descends and a light is seen from of a small home nestled in this remote locale. Hiroaki provides a viewer with a scene that celebrates this sacred mountain and the coveted quiet that descends from a night only a select few can admire. This scene is beautifully executed with dramatic printing effects such as the shading around the rocky terrain, the soft barren work on Mt. Fuji and the bright purple in the background from the rising sun.
Connoisseur's Note
This stunning work is a wonderfully executed post-war impression done with exceeding care. The bokashi color gradation found through the print, particularly in the background where the purple blends into pink in the sky and where the light gray fades into a darker tone in the rocky terrain is masterfully executed. The subtle but meticulous circular barren work most noticeable in the background on Mt. Fuji, in the trees, and the sky induces a stunning atmospheric quality found only on the best of impressions.
