Details
Known as the artist of trees, Joichi Hoshi creates a world all his own, bringing a profound sense of contemplation and poetics to his subjects. Rendered in intricate detail, Hoshi poses two trees next to each other, clad in a striking undulating blue and gray and set against a gold leaf background. The finely articulated limbs in two strikingly different configurations give the trees a personality and depth that far surpasses the decorative nature of the composition.
Connoisseur's Note
The background is printed in gold leaf, creating depth and providing a mysterious source of light held deep within the design. This impression is in a fine state of preservation with exceedingly sharp and vivid colors and in overall excellent condition.
