Details
Three kimono-clad women with small children traverse a temple yard containing large puddles. This charming scene is soaked in the Japanese color of spring as cherry blossoms erupt in bloom and their colors spill and saturate every corner of this design. This work is executed in Yoshida’s own blend of watercolor and oil painting translated into the language of woodblock prints.
Connoisseur's Note
This impression is an excellent example of the design. Exhibiting fresh, untouched colors, the print looks like it could have been created today. This print features Yoshida’s “jizuri seal,” as well as a brush and pencil signature, indicating it was produced under his strict supervision.
